Honey

Khansland Honey is raw, unfiltered, and unpasteurised — collected directly from the hive and strained only through a coarse mesh to remove large wax particles, with no heating, ultrafiltration, or blending that would destroy the honey's natural enzymes, pollen, and the aromatic compounds responsible for its complex flavour and therapeutic properties.

We source honey from three distinct ecosystems. Sundarbans mangrove honey — collected from wild hives by traditional mawal collectors — carries a slightly salty, intensely complex flavour. Mustard blossom honey from the winter fields of Rajshahi is pale gold, mildly sweet, and subtly pungent. Lychee honey from Rajshahi orchards has a delicate, floral sweetness with a characteristic fruity note.

Raw honey contains naturally occurring hydrogen peroxide, bee defensin-1, and phenolic compounds that give it genuine antimicrobial properties. Traditional Bangladeshi medicine has used honey therapeutically for millennia — mixed with ginger, lemon, and black pepper for respiratory complaints; applied topically to burns and wounds; and consumed daily as a general restorative. Our honey granulates naturally over time — a quality indicator showing it has not been heated or adulterated. Simply place the jar in warm water to reliquefy without destroying the enzymes.
