Khansland Haleem Mix is a carefully assembled combination of mixed whole grains, lentils, and whole spices in the precise proportions of the traditional haleem recipe — providing everything needed for the grain and spice component of one full pot of authentic haleem in a single packet that makes this extraordinarily labour-intensive dish accessible to home cooks.

Haleem is one of the most demanding and rewarding dishes in South Asian cuisine — a slow-cooked preparation of meat, whole wheat, oats, multiple lentils, and spices that requires three to four hours of continuous cooking with regular stirring to achieve the characteristic smooth, porridge-like consistency where the grains have broken down completely and merged with the meat fibre. The result is a dish of extraordinary richness, depth, and satisfying thickness unlike any other South Asian preparation.

Our blend contains the grain component — whole wheat berries, oats, and barley in traditional proportions — along with chana dal, masur dal, moong dal, and toor dal, and the whole spice component including cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, dried red chili, and cumin. The proportions reflect the traditional Mughal-influenced Bengali haleem recipe. To prepare, soak the grain component overnight, add to pressure-cooked meat with the spice packet, and cook until the desired consistency is achieved.
