Fish Cutlet Mix

Khansland Fish Cutlet Mix is a perfectly calibrated combination of fine breadcrumbs, semolina, binding agents, and a complete spice blend formulated specifically for coating and frying flaked fish cutlets — eliminating the need to assemble and measure separate coating components and delivering a consistently crispy, golden, well-seasoned crust every time.

Traditional Bangladeshi fish cutlets are made from flaked cooked fish — typically rui, katla, hilsa, or tuna — mixed with mashed potato, onion, green chili, and spices, formed into oval patties, coated in the breadcrumb mixture, and shallow or deep fried until deeply golden and crispy. The cutlet is a legacy of British-era colonial cooking that was adopted into the Bengali kitchen and transformed into something distinctively local through the incorporation of traditional Bengali spice flavours.

The spice component reflects the classic Bengali fish cutlet flavour profile: cumin, coriander, dried red chili, turmeric, black pepper, and a small amount of garam masala. The breadcrumb component blends fine and medium crumb that creates a coating with both crunch and stability. One 200 gram packet is sufficient for coating approximately 12 to 15 medium-sized cutlets. The mix also works for chicken and vegetable cutlets.
