Khansland Chickpea is organically cultivated whole Bengal gram — the large, cream-coloured chickpea — with a firm, meaty texture, a hearty nutty flavour, and an excellent nutritional profile that makes it one of the most satisfying and nutritionally complete plant foods available. Our chickpeas are selected for uniform large size, plump shape, and smooth skin that indicates proper maturity and freshness.

The most important Bangladeshi preparation using whole chickpeas is chholar dal — Bengal gram dal cooked with coconut pieces, dried red chili, and tempered with ghee, cumin, and dried fruit, producing a slightly sweet, richly flavoured, festive lentil dish that is a traditional accompaniment to luchi at special occasions and religious celebrations.

Roasted chickpeas — bhuna chhola — are a beloved street food and snack across Bangladesh, prepared by dry-roasting soaked chickpeas with spices until the outside crisps slightly. Mixed with raw onion, green chili, and lemon juice, it becomes the irresistible accompaniment to puri and singara that defines Bengali breakfast culture.
