Biryani Spice Mix

Khansland Biryani Spice Mix is a hand-blended combination of aromatic whole spices assembled in the precise proportions developed through generations of traditional biryani cooking — providing everything needed for the spice component of one full pot of authentic Bangladeshi biryani in a single, conveniently measured packet.

The blend contains green cardamom pods, black cardamom, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, mace blades, kababchini (cubeb pepper), dried rose petals, bay leaves, dried kewra petals, and nutmeg — the complete aromatic ensemble that creates the distinctive perfume of Bangladeshi biryani. The proportioning follows the traditional Dhaka-style biryani spice ratio, with green cardamom and mace as the dominant aromatic notes supported by the warm depth of cinnamon and cloves.

The combination of whole spices rather than pre-ground powder is deliberate and essential for biryani quality. Whole spices release their aromatic compounds slowly through the long biryani cooking process, creating a gradual aromatic development that permeates every grain of rice and every piece of meat.
