Buying Your First Product on Shop — A Complete Walkthrough
You have heard about Khansland Shop and you want to try buying something. Maybe a friend recommended it, or you saw a product shared on social media. This guide walks you through the entire process — from opening the site to receiving your package.

**Step 1: Browse or search**

When you open shop.khansland.com.bd, you will see featured products, categories, and any active promotions. If you know what you want, use the search bar. Type "wireless earbuds" or "cotton lungi" and results appear instantly, filtered by relevance.

If you are just browsing, tap any category — Electronics, Clothing, Home & Kitchen, Health & Beauty, Books, or others. Each category shows products sorted by popularity, with filters for price range, seller rating, and delivery speed.

One important difference from other marketplaces: Shop prioritizes local sellers. If a seller in your district has the same product as one in Dhaka, the local seller appears first. This usually means faster delivery and lower shipping costs.

**Step 2: Evaluate the product**

Click on any product to see its detail page. Here is what to look at:

Photos: Multiple photos from different angles. If a listing has only one blurry photo, that is a warning sign. Good sellers invest in clear product photography.

Description: Read the full description, not just the title. Dimensions, materials, color options, and any limitations should be listed. "Slightly different from photo" disclaimers are common in Bangladesh e-commerce — on Shop, we require sellers to be specific about what differs.

Seller profile: Click the seller's name to see their overall rating, how long they have been on Shop, total sales count, and recent reviews. A seller with 100+ sales and 4.5+ stars is generally reliable. A brand new seller with zero reviews is not necessarily bad, but proceed with appropriate caution.

Reviews: Read the most recent reviews, not just the star rating. Reviews from verified purchasers carry a badge. Look for reviews that mention the specific thing you care about — "battery lasts 6 hours as advertised" is more useful than "good product."

Price comparison: Shop shows you if the same product is available from multiple sellers at different prices. Check whether a cheaper listing has the same specifications and seller rating before choosing the lowest price.

**Step 3: Add to cart and checkout**

Tap "Add to Cart." You can continue browsing and add more items, or proceed directly to checkout.

At checkout, you will see your items, the subtotal, delivery fee (calculated based on your address and the seller's location), and the total. Delivery fees on Shop typically range from 50-150 taka within Dhaka and 80-250 taka for inter-district shipping.

Enter or confirm your delivery address. Be as specific as possible. "House 12, Road 5, Block C, Mirpur-10" is good. "Mirpur" alone will cause delivery problems. If you have a saved address from a previous order, you can select it with one tap.

**Step 4: Pay**

Shop accepts bKash, card payments, and cash on delivery (COD).

bKash: You authenticate with your PIN during checkout. Payment is instant. You receive a confirmation SMS from both bKash and Khansland.

Card: Standard Visa/Mastercard payment through our payment gateway. Your card details are tokenized — we do not store your actual card number.

Cash on delivery: Available for most products. You pay the delivery person when your package arrives. Note: some high-value items or certain sellers may not offer COD. A small COD fee of 10-20 taka may apply.

Our recommendation: prepaid orders (bKash or card) get priority processing. Many sellers ship prepaid orders the same day, while COD orders may wait until the next batch.

**Step 5: Track your order**

After payment, you receive an order confirmation with a tracking number. You can track your order status under "My Orders" on your profile:

Order confirmed — the seller has received your order.
Processing — the seller is preparing your package.
Shipped — the package is with the delivery partner.
Out for delivery — arriving today.
Delivered — you have received it.

You will get SMS notifications at each stage. If your order shows "Processing" for more than 48 hours (or 24 hours for same-day sellers), contact the seller through the messaging system.

**Step 6: Receive and review**

When your package arrives, inspect it before the delivery person leaves. Open the package. Check that the contents match what you ordered — correct product, correct color, correct quantity.

If everything is fine, confirm receipt in the app. This releases the payment to the seller.

If something is wrong — damaged item, wrong product, missing pieces — photograph the issue immediately and open a dispute through "My Orders." Do not confirm receipt until the issue is resolved. The dispute process typically resolves within 24-72 hours.

After you confirm receipt, leave a review. Be specific and honest. Your review helps future buyers make informed decisions and helps good sellers build their reputation. Include a photo if possible — reviews with photos are shown more prominently.

**Common first-time buyer questions**

"What if the product is fake?" — Shop requires sellers to disclose if a product is a replica, unbranded, or imported without official brand authorization. If you receive a product marketed as genuine that turns out to be counterfeit, you are entitled to a full refund.

"What if I change my mind?" — Most products have a 3-day return window from delivery date. Some categories (undergarments, perishable items, customized products) are non-returnable. The return policy is shown on each product page.

"What if the seller does not ship?" — If a seller does not ship within their stated timeframe, you can cancel for a full refund. Sellers who repeatedly fail to ship are suspended from the platform.

Your first purchase might feel uncertain. That is normal. Start with a low-risk item — something affordable from a well-reviewed seller. Once you see the process work, you will have confidence for larger purchases.
